HMR Secrets I Don't Know Yet

Well, I've started looking for other people who are blogging about their HMR diets. I've found a few and they were interesting reading for me. One posted this recipe on her blog:


Anyway, to make pumpkins bars, I mix 2 vanilla packets, 1 tablespoon of cheesecake sugar free instant pudding, 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder, 2 tablespoons of the pumpkin syrup and 3 tablespoons of cold water. Then I bake them in a muffin tin (I make 6) at 375 for 13 minutes. You can eat them warm from the oven or chilled.

I don't know where you get pumpkin syrup though. Hope Barbara stops by and lets me know.

I also read about her making chicken soup crackers, lemon bars and chocolate cookies using HMR stuff. I'm missing out here. But I don't take the classes, so maybe that's why. I'll go look at the recipe book again, but I don't remember seeing any of those type of things. Would love to try making them. I'm a good cook and Connie is a great baker if I can get her the recipes.

Hey Bob,
My ears must have been burning (or maybe it's eyes with a blog) :) I had no idea you were doing the Home program. I want to make sure that you are consulting with your physician as weight loss will have an immediate impact on diabetes and other related meds. I am not a physician/nurse and I cannot give medical advice to anyone - other than to just say, while weight loss is the AWESOME news (AND lose weight=lowering or going off diabetes meds, etc.), you need to be vigilant about contact and visits with your MD.
Okay, syrup. The one syrup I know that is all the rage patients use is a brand called DaVinci Gourmet Sugar Free Syrup. They have tons. My husband has a cabinet of them. We don't sell them. But I know people find them at Marshalls Stores, of all places at reduced fees. I don't know if they are what the blogger referred to in recipe. But Google them and see what you find if there aren't Marshalls near you or they don't carry the flavor you want. I do know many people use pumpkin spice. Not sure if there's a pumpkin extract too. It's an amazing world out there of flavorings :)
Finally, you won't find muffins, crackers, etc. in the HMR recipe book. People get very innovative and I've had samples. We usually tell people that by concentrating the shakes into low volume recipes, they end up feeling hungry and it isn't as efficient. That's why the bars are helpful. But each person is different. So if it works, great. We just don't publish them.

I don't know where you order your products, but I bet the staff there could answer questions you have. Give them a call!

Definitely talk to your doctor about your weight loss program. Also you an check YouTube for recipes, another place I found is www.ihmonline.com, they have a large collection of recipes for both phase 1 and phase 2.
